Cycling Adventure on Hvar Island
A short boat ride will take you to the beautiful old town of Starigrad, an ancient city that leaves every visitor breathless with its rich history landmarks. This will be the starting point of your exciting cycling tour. And don’t you worry if you’re not in shape! The central part where the cycling tour takes place is mostly flat area of the island with some small hilly parts, but still very much acceptable for majority of cyclists.
After gearing up, enjoy cycling through the old part of the town. Explore the historical heart of Starigrad while navigating through the narrow streets and cozy little squares. If you listen very carefully these old stones might even whisper a secret or two.
Your cycling adventure takes you from Starigrad to Ager – a UNESCO protected area filled with different vineyards, olive trees and traditional vegetable gardens. Cycling though Ager gives a great chance to stop, smell the aromatic air a bit and learn about the long tradition of wine and olive making from local experts.
Short stop will allow you to freshen up a bit before continuing to Vrboska.The city of Vrboska, the small Venice of the island, is a tiny fisherman village that will make you fall in love with it at first sight. Built along a rather narrow and curling fjord, it’s is safe to call it the most picturesque town on the island. Here you’ll find that special Mediterranean serenity that can put life back into a tiresome body and positive spirit back into one’s soul.
Next stop is the mesmerizing Jelsa. Located on the north shores of the island, Jelsa is a true tourist center. Dense pine tree forests, beautiful blue sea, numerous beaches, restaurants and bars welcome visitors from all over the world every year. Don’t miss your chance to taste the fabulous and widely famous Jelsa’s ice cream while you’re there. Narrow paths curving through the vineyards and olive fields take your cycling adventure all the way to the very heart of the island.

Here you’ll find a completely different type of peace and calm that will relax your soul.After finishing the cycling adventure, the old town of Hvar will allow you to unwind a bit and stretch your legs. This famous getaway for jetsetters will undoubtedly seduce you and steal your heart at the very first glimpse of it. Apart from the strong nightlife game, this town has a lot more to offer during the day – from amazing natural beaches and coves to the rich cultural heritage.
