Vis – A Tour of the Island
Come on board and let our captain take you on a tour you’re unlikely to forget. Relax, lay back and enjoy your boat ride to the island of Vis.
First stop along the way is the famous Stončica, a place that holds a unique sight especially when viewed from the seaside – the amazing lighthouse of Stončica. The lighthouse was built at the north-eastern promontory of the island of Vis and it’s famous for its very long tradition of active lightkeepers that still daily tend for this unique lighthouse complex.
Next stop is Military Tunnels on Vis Island. These are one of the most attractive secrets of Dalmatia, hidden on the island of Vis. They were built and used as an important military base during the WW2 with approximately 20 km of underground tunnels, caves, mines and storage facilities which have recently been turned into one of the most attractive visit points on Vis Island. Exploring these is a unique opportunity to get a different view at the history and tradition of the area.
It is well known that the world famous “Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again” movie was filmed far from Greece. Several unique, amazing locations across the Vis Island have served as the perfect set for the plot of the sequel. All these locations are well worth seeing and are easily recognizable even to those who haven’t memorized every single scene from the movie. Allow us to show you these on this comprehensive tour of the island.
Komiža is another must-see place on the island. It’s a small fisherman village that has been attracting both locals and tourists for years now making them fall in love with its stone houses and narrow streets that lead from the port uphill. Explore all the wanders of Komiža, immerge yourself into the local living and enjoy your time in this charming little town.
Make sure to have your swimsuit with you, because you wouldn’t want to miss a chance at swimming in the mesmerizing Stiniva Bay. This famous beach is a true well-hidden gem of the Vis Island. It is easily accessible by boat and perfect for a swimming break in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. Sunbathing on the beach, swimming and snorkeling are top activities here.
Relax, enjoy the deep blue waters and don’t forget to explore underneath the surface too before returning back to the shore.
